About Us
Our Mission
The mission of the Congregation of St. Thomas the Doubter is to share the love of God with a broken and hurting world.
A Community of Grace
So many of our members have experienced rejection, hurt, or neglect at the hands of the institutional church. In their times of greatest need, they have found themselves shunned, ignored, or even blamed by their communities of faith. The Congregation of St. Thomas the Doubter seeks to be a place of grace and support for all people, not merely when it’s convenient, but when it’s needed the most. We believe that the love of God is known most fully through the love and grace found in community. If the community of faith cannot embody that love and grace, then no amount of preaching and teaching will be able to do so.
Who We Are
Although most of our members come from the Christian tradition, our community is open to people of all faiths. We seek first and foremost to build a community of love and grace rather than one defined by adherance to a creed. There are, of course, values and ideals that we affirm, but we do not define anyone’s worthiness to be in community by whether they agree with us or not.
As such, our worship services will often feature insights not only from Christianity, but from other world religions. We believe God to be bigger than any one religious tradition and that the love of God does not discriminate.
